What occupations will see growth and as a result be hiring like crazy? The following are expected to be among the occupations that will see a higher hiring demand.
1. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
Certified occupational therapy assistants help those with disabilities and illnesses to recover and oversee treatments they need for a healthy lifestyle. They aid patients with rehabilitation exercises as well as interaction in social situations.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 43% growth in this occupation between 2014 and 2024. This is a higher growth rate than average. The increase is attributed to the fact that people are living longer. The median annual pay for certified occupational therapy assistants is $57,860.
2. Physical Therapy Assistants
Physical therapy assistants perform some of the same duties as occupational therapists assistants although the rate of pay is somewhat lower. Working in conjunction with therapists, they help patients with injuries and illnesses to regain their health. Physical therapy assistants median salary per year is $55,170. The demand for this occupation is expected to increase by 40%. Again, this is attributed to people living longer.
3. Wind Turbine Technicians
According to the jobs outlook, wind turbine technicians are number one on the list. The wind industry is growing rapidly. From 2014 to 2024 the number of jobs in this field is expected to grow by 108%. The wind turbine technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing wind turbines. The median salary for wind turbine technicians is $51,050 annually. With the focus on renewable energy and investments of over $100 billion in wind energy having been made, the demand for wind turbine technicians is at an all time high.
4. Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, Nurse Anesthetists
Nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists are also called Advanced Practice Registered Nurses or APRNs. Duties include a variety of patient care depending on the state in which they practice. They can provide primary health care for a number of patients as well as specialized healthcare. Jobs in this field are expected to increase 31% between 2014 and 2024. $104,740 is the median annual salary in this field.
5. Commercial Divers
The demand for jobs in this field are expected to increase by 37% from 2014 to 2024. Commercial divers (excluding athletes, fishers, and law enforcement) perform duties underwater. They may inspect and repair as well as install or remove equipment. Additionally they may carry out experiments or take photos of marine life. A median salary of $50,470 is earned annually by commercials divers.
